NO SWEAT LAST NIGHT is a performance conceived by Delphine Roche, which took place at Le Consulat, Paris 14, on September 6, 2018. Fusing the boxing ring and the dancefloor, it is meant to celebrate the affinities of the culture of boxing and the culture of hip-hop,. Boxers have often chosen hip-hop songs for their ring entrances, and both cultures have established narratives of self-elevation, of individuals who have struggled to overcome prejudices and inequalities. The performance introduces the different rituals of muay thai to an art audience, and builds gradually in intensity, finishing with a part based on audience participation, where performers and spectators dance side by side on the dancefloor.
